Dan and I decided to honor our time in Madison by replacing the traditional wedding cake with a dessert from our favorite local restaurant. We are hoping to have (* drumroll, please*)……
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Eggrolls from the fabulous Bluephies!
Trust me, they are absolutely amazing.
Now, I just need to get our caterer to approve us using them instead of a cake. Both the caterer and Bluephies are owned by the same company, so hopefully that will help….
Yummy!
I’m trying to make it so that readers can subscribe to my blog, but this error message keeps appearing: “an error has occurred. the feed is probably down. please try again later” It has been like this for a week, so if you know how to fix it, please let me know!
Since we’re likely biking through Italy for our honeymoon, it seems only appropriate that we incorporate something bike-related into our wedding, as I’ve mentioned before. Here are some potential invitations…

The invitations from ellothere that I thought were adorable no longer seem to be available, unfortunately.
So, which of these do you think is best?
I’m really liking the idea of tan suits for the wedding. Black/navy/grey seems too formal for the wedding “feel” we’re going for. I love Budget Savvy Bride’s groomsmen pictures, with their different colored, but still coordinated, tan suits.
I’m also toying with the idea of Dan wearing a tan suit, while the guys wear khaki pants and coordinated cobalt blue shirts with yellow ties, but Dan likes the idea of them all wearing suits. Opinions?
I made a final dress decision. And it isn’t any of the ones I posted on here from the first shopping trip. It is sooooo much better than any of those. They were pretty dresses, but the one I picked is gorgeous and totally me.
Since Dan sees this blog occasionally, I’m not going to tell you what it looks like. But it is ivory with a sweetheart neckline, and knee length. Yes, knee length. I went back to my original vision and got a short dress. It is gorgeous and I love it and I can’t wait to wear it!
I will, however, show you the first bridesmaid dress we picked out. We decided to go with blue bridesmaid dresses from Priscilla of Boston, since we have a discount now that I bought my gown there.
The bridesmaids will be choosing their own blue dress, as long as the different shades of blue look good together. Here’s what bridesmaid KB chose for her dress:

Vineyard Style 1415
She’ll be wearing this dress in “Deep Sapphire.” To the rest of my bridesmaids, KB has “claimed this dress!”
We have chosen our photographer and have her booked for our wedding! So excited to work with Courtney at Blue Dandelion Photography!
Last weekend, I took some lovely ladies with me to start looking for a wedding dress! Here’s some that I found…..

Dress 2: Paloma Blanca?

Dress 3: Paloma Blanca

So, what do you think?
I think the Gocco is outside of our wedding budget, especially because the photographer we were looking at upped their prices quite a bit. So I’m back to looking for invitations. I don’t like the typical lacy-flowery-etc. invitations, preferring a more contemporary style (how appropriate, since our wedding is at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, huh?), but I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to make my own or buy some. These (from ellothere at etsy) are cute:
